Truth Tracer Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 20, 2026

Truth Tracer is a Scripture mind-mapping and meditation application. This policy explains what information the app handles and how optional Google Drive synchronization works.

Local study data

Truth Tracer stores Scripture references, study titles, mind-map nodes, connections, observations, interpretation notes, doctrinal notes, applications, prayers, and related study information locally on your device.

Truth Tracer does not require a Truth Tracer-hosted account for local use.

Optional Google Drive synchronization

If you choose to connect Google Drive, Truth Tracer can store selected .truthtrace study files in Truth Tracer's private Google Drive application-data area. This feature is used to let you move or synchronize studies between supported Truth Tracer platforms.

Truth Tracer requests only the Google Drive application-data permission needed to view and manage its own private app data. It does not request access to browse all files in your Google Drive.

Google Drive sync is initiated through Truth Tracer's sync controls. Truth Tracer compares local and cloud study versions and blocks automatic overwrite when both versions have changed independently.

On Android, Truth Tracer does not persist raw Google access tokens. When possible, Google Play services restores a previously authorized grant. On Windows, the Google refresh token is protected for the current Windows user using Windows DPAPI. Truth Tracer does not receive or store your Google password.

Google account authorization and storage are also subject to Google's applicable terms and privacy practices.

Sharing and exports

Truth Tracer can export .truthtrace study files and PDF study documents. On Android, the system share sheet may be used when you explicitly choose to share or save exported content. Data is sent to another app or destination only when you choose that action.

Bible content

Truth Tracer currently includes the public-domain World English Bible, Protestant Edition, as its offline Bible corpus. Additional Bible translations will be added only when appropriate permission or licensing allows their use.

Analytics and advertising

The current release does not include advertising, a Truth Tracer analytics service, or a third-party crash-reporting SDK.

Data retention and deletion

Local studies remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app/data according to your operating system's behavior. Google Drive app-data remains under your Google account and can be disconnected from Truth Tracer. Google also provides account controls for applications authorized to access Google services.

Truth Tracer does not currently create a separate Truth Tracer user account.

Security

Truth Tracer uses secure HTTPS connections when communicating with Google APIs. No system can guarantee absolute security, but the app is designed to minimize requested permissions and avoid sending study data to a Truth Tracer-hosted server in the current release.

Changes to this policy

If Truth Tracer adds analytics, crash reporting, Truth Tracer-hosted accounts, background synchronization, subscriptions, AI services, additional cloud providers, or other network services, this policy will be updated before those features are publicly released.
